I had a lot of good memories with Dust: An Elysian Tail. In total, I have played this game for 57 hours. I did a Normal run and 100% completed the game (it actually goes above 100% but ya know details) and then continued on to play the game on Hard mode to be able to collect all of the achievements. I must say, pulling off combos in this game is relatively easy, but every time you slash an enemy with that sword is oh-so-satisfying.ĭust engaged in some combat against some standard enemies. As you fight your way to the general, you’ll level up and gain experience with the combat style along the way.

Definitely a soundtrack to listen to on one’s own time when not playing the game to be able to hear the music in its full integrity. The music can take on many different feels from very relaxing to very beautiful to powerful and inspiring. Not only are the story and the art captivating, but the music is also fantastic as well. The relationship between Dust and Fidget is something else…~ Although the mood can be tense and serious, a lot of times the dialogue is very light and playful, characters constantly bantering with each other. One of the things that I also find charming about Dust: An Elysian Tail is the dialogue and the interactions between characters. It was pretty hard for me to put this game down after a while. It is not too deep but it still consumes you and keeps you at the edge of your seat, wanting more. Although I feel there could have more been added to the story, it is still none the less good. Each different area has its own different and beautiful design. One of the first things that struck a chord with me was the amazing artwork. I’m happy to say that I was not disappointed. When I was watching the trailer everything just seemed to pull me in and got me excited to play. I have no issues saying that Dust: An Elysian Tail is one of my all-time favorite games.ĭust: An Elysian Tail was the first game that I bought on steam. It’s one of those games in which you can get lost in. I found everything so enchanting about the game. Sometimes I find it hard to talk about why I love Dust: An Elysian Tail so much. In the midst of the confusion, the guardian of the sword, a nimbat by the name of Fidget, follows the Blade of Ahrah to see what had summoned the sword. Other than your name, you have no idea who you are and why you are where you are. You finally become conscious to the sound of a talking sword, the Blade of Ahrah which you have summoned, calling to you.

If you're a completionist and/or a big fan of Dust that missed out on the IndieBox release this probably won't change your plans but I think the fact they're recycling items from other company's releases, in addition to the quality control issues/poor back artwork on Flinthook/Merc Kings, raises some questions.A world ravaged by war with no hope for a dying race which is being exterminated by an evil general. LRG probably got them at a great price compared to producing something as pricey as a steelbook. IndieBox's subscription service folded the end of 2017 and has been slowing selling off the last of their stock at higher prices ever since - Dust is out of stock now, but I think we can safely say what they did with their excess plushies/rubber USB swords. The plushie and sword were fine quality for what amounted to an extra ~$15 to get some physical extras/soundtrack + the Steam key, but they're nowhere near what you'd expect for a limited Collector's Edition. Well, aside from swapping the cloth map/lithograph for a double sided poster and upgrading the soundtrack CD to a jewel case. The contents should look pretty familiar to what LRG just announced because they're recycling most of it. In 2016 a subscription service called IndieBox released a boxed copy of Dust for PC for $24.99 + shipping. I think it's important people have full information to make an informed decision before Friday, so I'm sorry for hijacking your post a bit. I've been debating posting something about this since I saw the tweet.
